Getting Clarity Starts with the Right Diagnosis
ADHD in kids and teens isn’t always hyperactivity. It can present as emotional dysregulation, school struggles or avoidance, difficulty paying attention or completing tasks. It may overlap with anxiety and mood disorders, so expert evaluation is critical to uncover the cause and create the right treatment plan
When to Seek Care for Child or Adolescent ADHD
Your child may be easily distracted, struggle to complete homework or chores, or need frequent redirection to stay on task
They might avoid assignments that feel overwhelming or leave tasks incomplete even when they know what to do
Frequent lost items, missed assignments, or trouble managing routines may be signs of underlying executive function challenges
Kids with ADHD often have a low frustration threshold, leading to big reactions, irritability, or trouble calming down
Some children take feedback very personally, reacting with sadness, shame, or anger even when the correction is gentle or routine
Can’t seem to sit still, often tapping, wiggling, or moving around even when it’s time to stay put

ADHD evaluations typically take 60 minutes and are generally completed during the initial intake appointment, though in some cases the evaluation process can span multiple appointments. We use evidence-based, structured assessments to make accurate diagnoses.
We accept most major commercial insurance plans, including most Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, Aetna, Anthem, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare plans (including Optum, UMR, and UHC Student Resources), Mass General Brigham Health Plan, and Harvard Pilgrim. This is not an exhaustive list, and our team will complete an insurance verification prior to the initial appointment.
We are not currently in network with any government insurance plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, MassHealth, and Tricare, even if the plan is administered by one of the insurers listed above.
There are a variety of treatment options available. While medications are effective in a majority of patients, holistic options and psychotherapy skills can be used in addition to, or in place of, medication.
Medication selection is an individualized and collaborative process, and our team is knowledgeable about the full range of medical and non-medical options.
